Q1 : Where are the tutorial files ?

These are located in the installation directory under
the directory Tutorial.  They can be accessed from
the Help menu under Help --> Open Tutorials.

Q2 : How can I draw wires at angles other than 90 degrees ?

Press and hold the the shift key while drawing
a wire to keep it at an angle.

Q3 : Are full screen cross-hairs available ?

Yes : You can turn on the full screen cross
    hairs within ProSchematic

    check the Menu entry :

Menu Controls -- > Toggle Cursor Mode.

Q4 : How can I highlight nets from within the netlister ?

Open the netlister (Processes --> Netlist) and click the netlist button. In the netlist panel double click on one of the netlists just produced. This will highlight the connections in the schematic that resulted in the netlist. Note that highlight flashing can be turned off from the Control panel.

Q5 : Where are the “free Tools” ?

Within ProSchematic free tools can be accessed from the Menu “Modules”.

From outside Proschemtic free tools can be accessed from the start menu (Windows) or the batch file in the installation directory (freetools.bat). On Linux they are accessed from the installation directory shell command sh freetools.sh.

Q6 : How can I center the schematic/find the circuit/zoom easily ?

Use the center button (drop Down Zoom control).

Use the minus key to scroll out to maximum view. Put the cursor in the schematic and then do not move it - keep hitting the "=" (shifted this is the + key) but its easier not to have to hit shift as well. Unlike other editors the view is changed so that the first zoom in position is kept i.e. you zoom into the position exactly where the first zoom request was made. i.e. it does what you expect.

Q7 : How can I set my own paper sizes ?

Any size paper (in cm) can be set in the
    Menu:Edit-->Options-->Page

Note you can set zero border using Menu:Edit-->Options-->Print

Q8 : How can I easily scroll the schematic ?

Right clicking in the schematic and dragging the mouse scrolls the page. The cursor changes to a pointing finger.

Alternatively move the cursor to a position away from the center of the schematic screen and hit the space bar - the schematic will re-center at the cursor.

Q9 : What does this error mean Can not execute "gswin32.exe -dSAFER -dBATCH- ...”

This error means that ghostscript is not installed correctly - ProSchematic can not see gswin32.exe.

Open up the online manual and look at the section on
    printing.

Note: Select AFPL ghostscript download button at source forge

P1 : How can I improve performance on slower systems e.g. for a P200 ?

From the options-->System Menu there are several controls to stop the program doing as much processing; obviously switching them off will reduce the program features but will allow the program to operate faster.

    Controls that affect performance :

    • Orthogonal On/off
    • Attribute viewer
    • Line/wire merge
    • Drag On/Off        - Note to drag wires use a bounding not just left click.
    • Auto connections - only active for orthogonal drag.

These are listed in order of most expensive in terms of processing power to least expensive.
